Saints finish season 31-10

The Mercyhurst North East Saints baseball team lost back to back games to Westchester Community College in the Eastern District Championship and finished the season 31-10.

In game one the Saints left 17 runners on base and lost 6-3. Jim Solano got the loss, only his second all season. Solano went 5 and 2/3 and have up 5 runs and struck out 3. Jamie Lauria came on in relief allowing 1 run in 2 1/3 and Alex Glatch finished it up with a scoreless 9th.

Max Schrantz was 3-4 and AJ Thompson and Keyshawn D'Orso each had two hits.

In game two the Saints had bases loaded in the top of the first with no outs and could get a run home. Michael Mack picked up the loss. Keyshawn D'Orso and Sabatino Dinardo each hit a homerun but the WCC bats were too much as the Saints lost the finals 9-2. WCC will advance to the 2014 NJCAA World Series.

The Saints finished the year with a program best 31 wins and only the 2nd Region III title in the programs 16 year history. MNE had 11 players make the All Region teams including 7 1st teamers.
