Saints sweep CCAC South

For the first time this year the Saints completed the double header sweep. Nick Woloschak and Nolan Freeman were good on the mound for the Saints and provided the spark for MNE.

In game one Woloschak threw a complete game and allowed just 2 runs on 7 hits and struck out 5. Scott Pierce continued his hot streak with a 2-3 effort with 2 rbi and a double. Zach Miller had two hits including a double as well. Brian Casiano drew 4 walks and had 3 runs scored and an RBI.

In game two Nolan Freeman got with win throwing 5 1/3 innings allowing two runs on 4 hits and struck out 7. Marcus Gunter got the save with 1 2/3 innings in relief and struck out 3. Mike Montalbano had a big game with a perfect 2-2 at the plate including a big 2 run homerun in the bottom of the 5th and drove in 4 RBI on the day. Pierce and Malik Madison had a hit with an RBI.

MNE improved to 7-9 on the year and will take on Notre Dame JV at Mercyhurst University in a single 9 inning game one Thursday.
