Dalton Donachie silenced the bats of Monroe Community College in game one, tossing 9 inning complete game victory recording 9 strikeouts. The Saints improved to 1-0 in the 3 game series with a 2-1 win on Friday night.
Following commencement on Saturday afternoon, the Saints took to the field in game two for what proved to be the final game of the Regional Series as Freshman Logan Snyder took the ball for the Saints.
In the bottom of the 1st, The Saints offense rattled off 5 straight hits to put up a 4 spot right away. Tisch, Chamberlain reach via singles and moved to scoring position on an error before sophomore kenny robinson belted in the two runners in a single to centerfield. Ty Cannon doubled Robinson home and Swope followed up with a single.
The Saints double steal attempt worked as Tyler Cannon skated home as brother Tommy Cannon got in a run down to get the 4th run across. Snyder tossed a solid four innings allowing two earned runs, walking three, and striking out three before turning the pill over to Sophomore reliever Zach Barrett who earned to win by allowing only 1 run through over the final five frames-striking out 2-and making two incredible defensive plays to get himself out of a couple jams.
The offense was lead by Blaze Chamberlain - 2 hits (2B), Kennedy Robinson - 2 hits, 2 RBI, 2 runs, and Jason Swope - 3 hits, 1 RBI.
The Saints won the regional championship for the first time since 2014 and is the first of Head Coach Brandon Crum's career. They will be back in action in the NJCAA District tournament at a site TBD over the next couple of days.
The Region 15 champion will host the national tournament.
