Saints Split With Monroe

The MNE Saints baseball team continued their rivalry with Monroe Community College Tuesday afternoon and split the double header losing game one 6-5, and winning game two 12-11.

In game one, the Saints were led by Brandon Scheidemantle and Padraig O'Shaughnessy, who both collected two hits apiece, with one of Scheidemantle's being a double, and one of O'Shaughnessy's being a homerun. Despite the power displayed, the Saints fell short of securing the win.

In game two, the Saints again found themselves in a tight game. The game however was offensively entertaining. The Saints cranked out 14 hits, with eight different Saints recording hits. Padraig O'Shaughnessy continued his tear in game two, by collecting three hits in four plate appearances, which included another homerun.

Robby Korff, Jaydin Vavreck, Aaron Pawlak, and Nick Petrolla also had multi hit games in the victory.

The Saints are now 15-11 on the season and host Clark State Community College this Friday and Saturday.
