The Saints Baseball team squared off against Clark State Community College this past weekend and won the series by taking two out of the three games played. In games one and two, the Saints won 9-2 and 12-2. In game three, the Saints fell 10-9.
In game one, the Saints used a six run sixth inning to solidify the victory. Joe Gammon received the win giving up five hits, allowing only one run while striking out six in four and two thirds innings pitched.
In game two, it was more of the same. The Saints cranked out 14 hits, with three players recording three hit games. Jaydin Vavreck, Aaron Pawlak, and Eric Fermier each went 3 for 3 in the game. Padraig O'Shaughnessy and
Robby Korff also added homeruns in the win.
Jacob Harsany got the win on the mound, improving his record to 5-1 on the year.
Clark didn't go away in game three, scratching and clawing their way to a one run victory. Despite the loss, Brandon Scheidemantle and Padraig O'Shaughnessy each homered again, while Eric Fermier added another double to his day. It wasn't enough however, as Dan Klase picked up the loss in relief.
The Saints are now 17-12 overall and will head to Rochester, NY this Thursday to take on Monroe Community College.
