On Tuesday evening, the Saints hosted Erie Community College in what turned out to be a thriller. In first half action, ECC took an early lead but the Saints were always within striking distance. Both teams shot an identical 44.8% from the field, but ECC had the edge in 3's, putting them up by exactly that at halftime, 41-38.
As the second half got underway, the game remained a standstill, as each team would take the lead, and give it up. The scored was tied 3 times in the game, with the lead changing hands 8 times. The Saints last lead was at the 2:43 mark in the second half when they were up 2 points. A couple costly turnovers late in the game had them back down. It was with 7 seconds remaining in the game, the Saints had no time outs, down by 3 and the ball as Jalen Jackson dribbled the entire distance of the court, threw up a runner from just behind the three point line, and as the gym went silent, the ball unluckily hit off the back of the rim, ending the game. Erie Community College would take the 85-82 conference win.
The Saints are back in action on Saturday as the travel to Genesee Community College.
