Despite freezing conditions, the Saints hosted the Jamestown-Olean Jaguar's on Thursday evening. This would be the final home game for the Saints this season.
As the game go underway, the Saints took an early lead and never looked back. Jalen Jackson led the way with a team high 10 points in the first half and helped his team lock up a 48-30 halftime lead.
As the second half began, the Saints kept the pressure on and continued to build on their already large lead. The main factor for the Saints was on the boards, as they out rebounded the Jaguar's 74-39. Another key component was bench play as the Saints saw 11 different players scoring at least 3 points in the game. Both factors would help the Saints get the easy win, 100-77.
Individual highlights from the game included Justin Dobbs with a team high 20 points, while Jalen Jackson chipped in with 13 points and a team game high 16 rebounds. Brandon Wilkins would add 16 points and 11 rebounds.
With the win, the Saints locked up a spot in the WNYAC tournament. The Saints will close out their regular season on Saturday as they travel to Jamestown to take on the JCC Cougars.
On a a side not, before the game began, two sophomore Saints were introduced; Brandon Dawson and Justin Dobbs. These were the only two sophomore's on the men's basketball team this season and both were recognized and applauded for their commitment and dedication to the men's basketball team and the athletic department.
