Men's Basketball Drop Season Opener to Owens CC 89-75

New Head Men's Basketball Coach Shannon Pullium faced a tough challenge in his debut for the Saints as the men's basketball team hosted perennial powerhouse Owens Community College.

During a strong shooting first half, which included 44% from behind the 3 point line for Owens, the Express hopped out to an early lead and kept a double digit margin going into halftime, 52-40.

As the second half got underway, the Saints tightened up their defense and kept the second half close, chipping away at the lead throughout the half. However the Saints couldn't make the full comeback and fell to Owens 89-75.

Highlights from the game included 28 points from Omar Little, 18 points from Chris Collins and 12 points from Craige Dixon. Peyton McLaurin chipped in with 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.

With the loss, the Saints move to 0-1 on the season and are back in action this weekend as they travel to the community college of Beaver County to compete in a 2 day tournament.
