Saints LAx season opener

NORTH EAST PA. – The Saints Lacrosse Program opened their season with an 18-4 victory over the weekend on Sunday afternoon against the Cardinals of CCBC Catonsville. The Saints jumped to a quick 5-0 first quarter lead and never looked back.

Freshman Midfielder Tyler Butterfield paced the Saints with a game high 6 points on 4 goals and 2 assists. On the day 10 different Saints recorded a point. Defenders Michael Cristinzio and Donavan Brown were pivotal on the defense. The tandem combined for 2 goals, 10 groundballs, and 9 caused turnovers.

Josh Greenfield got the start in the goal for the Saints. He finished the day with 5 saves while only allowing 3 goals.

Coach Miccio was quoted saying "It was a great team win, but we still have so much to work on. It was a building block for us and now we have to get ready for a great team on short rest so we are focused on that."

The Saints are back in action this Wednesday when they travel to the defending National Champion and current #1 ranked Onondaga Lazers in Syracuse New York. That game has a face-off slated for 4pm.
