Men's Soccer Battles to a 2-2 Draw

The Mercyhurst North East Men's Soccer team were back in action last night on September 16thwhen they traveled to Jamestown Community college. It would be a double header with the Men's team playing at 3:00 pm with the Lady Saints kicking off at 5:00 pm. After having their Lakeland Tournament canceled this past weekend, the Men's team were eager to get on the pitch and were on top of the game from the first whistle. After some good play around the box, the Saints would get on the board in the 7thminute with a solo effort from Sophomore, Captain, #23, Jared Buzzard. Buzzard beat two defenders on the endline before smashing the ball home at the near post with very little angle to work with.

The Saints would net their second goal of the day just ten minutes later when a great ball in behind from Jared Buzzard, would fall to the feet of Freshman Stiker, #8, Barrington Smith. Smith would take the keeper on and slot the ball past him to put the Saints up 2-0. That is were the scoring for Mercyhurst North East would end, however, with Jamestown CC netting a goal before the half and getting the only goal in the 2nd half to end the game tied at two all. The Men's team are right back on the pitch tonight as they host Erie Community College at 6:00 pm.
