The Saints were back in action again as they traveled to Erie Community College for their 4th match of the season. The Saints played Erie twice the previous season, going 1-1 after two eventful and action packed games. This would be the only match between the two sides for this season and both teams were geared to come away with a result.
From the first whistle, the Saints were slow to get anything going and within the first four minutes of the first half, Erie CC would score their first goal. After the first goal, Mercyhurst did much better with making life difficult for their opponents with high pressure and the creation of a few chances. In the 27th minute, however, Erie was able to work another good attack that would result in their second goal. The Saints didn't give up and would be rewarded for their hard work ten minutes later when #7, Daniel Noble, would slip a pass forward to #2, Jaheed Loblack. Loblack would do the rest, beating two Erie Defenders on the end line before blasting home the Saints first and only goal of the match near post.
Erie would respond almost immediately after their kickoff and score their 3rd goal of the game after some miscommunication in the back from the Saints. The first half would end 3-1 and final score would end 6-1 Erie as they would find the net 3 more times against North East. Although the score line was not in the Saints favor, they battled til the end of the matches while creating a few more chances that saw the shots go just wide or saves from Erie's Goalkeeper. The Saints next game will see them travel to Cuyahoga CC on September 7th.
