Men’s Soccer goes 1 and 1 over the weekend with their second win of the season

The Men's Soccer team were back in action this past weekend with back to back games on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Saints hosted Genesee CC, reigning NJCAA Division III national champions at Vineyard Field. Fresh off of their win over Jamestown, the Saints were eager to test their skills against the reigning champs and although the score ended 4-0, the team played a great game defensively.

The Saints, pleased with their performance against Genesee, took that momentum into their home game Saturday, as they hosted Harford CC from Maryland. The Saints would match Harford's pressure and physicality and in the first 20 minutes, a bit of fortune would shine on MNE as Harford would score an unfortunate own goal to put the Saints up 1-0. The Saints would create a lot of chances forcing great saves out of the Harford Goalkeeper in the second half, but the last 8 minutes of the game saw the Saints on the ropes as Harford would put ball after ball in the Saints box, but it wouldn't be enough to tie the game. After 90 minutes, the game would end 1-0 in the saints favor giving them their second win on the season.

The Saints are back in action this week when they travel to Monroe CC on Wednesday and host Montgomery CC this coming Friday.
