Mercyhurst scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Davenport under the lights on a beautiful night in Clermont, FL.
The Saints broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning when Grace Edwards singled and would later score as part of a double steal. In the fifth, Emily Foy walked and scored on a triple by Heather Mueller. Mueller then scored on a single by Sam Mott.
Davenport tied the game with three runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth inning.
In the seventh, Sam Mott singled with one out and pinch runner Alicia Ngraingas beat a throw to second and would then score when the throw got away in the outfield. Edwards then singled home Hannah Larkin and score on a wild pitch to complete the scoring.
Lea Theisen was credited with the win, as she entered the game in the sixth inning and shut Davenport down in the seventh.
Mott started the game and went five innings, strikeout out 10 and allowing just 3 hits. Two of the runs scored in the fifth were charged to Mott.
Mercyhurst improves to 4-3 on the season with the win.
