For the second time on St. Patty's day, the Saints found magic in the seventh inning as they completed a come from behind victory over CCBC Catonsville Thursday. With the win, the Saints completed a sweep of the 13th ranked Cardinals.
The game was played back and forth with the Saints scoring first when Mackenzie Hawley singled and scored.
After CCBC took the lead with a three run homer in the bottom of the first, the Saints got back on top in the fourth when Kim Burdett blasted a three run homer deep to left. Another three run homer put the Saints down 6-5 after five innings and the score remained that way until the seventh.
With one out, Sam Mott drew a walk and replaced with pinch runner Megan Minihane. Aren Schwab singled and a wild pitch gave the Saints 2nd and 3rd with one out. Kiersten Coho hit a ground ball to the right side to score Minihane with the tying run. On the play, the Catonsville defense threw the ball away and Schwab raced home with the go-ahead run.
The Saints then went on a tear and scored four more runs to put the game away.
With the sweep, the Saints improve to 7-11 and will be back in action Friday when they play at Frederick Community College.
