Schwab Leads Saints Past Lazers

Aren Schwab led a Saints offensive outburst as MNE scored early and often against the Lazers Friday evening in Syracuse.

Schwab belted two long doubles and drove home two runs to lead the attack for MNE. Teammates Mackenzie Hawley, Emily Foy, and Hannah Larkin all added two hits each for the winners.

Kim Burdett rocked a long home run to center field and finished the game with three RBIs.

Kiersten Coho was on fire for the Saints, striking out nine in five inning to get the complete game win.

On a very chilly night in Syracuse, the Saints bat were as hot as could be as they cruised past Onondaga by a score of 13-2.

Mercyhurst finished with 17 total hits and every player in the starting lineup accumulated at least one hit.

Taylor Wilson went 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs to pace the Saints attack. Teammate Mackenzie Hawley had three hits for MNE, while Kaelyn Shea and Kiersten Coho both added two.

Sam Mott was the winning pitcher, going three innings and striking out four in the process.

With the win, the Saints have now won seven straight and are 12-11 overall. Mercyhurst will host Genesee Community College Tuesday in their home opener. The Cougars are the defending WNYAC champs. First pitch is at 3:00pm.
