Kiersten Coho led the Saints on offense and pitching Saturday afternoon in a cold win over Onondaga.

The Lazers came out firing as they scored two runs in the first inning and added another in the third to make it 3-1.

Coho lifted a home run to right field to cut the lead in half. In the fourth, Katy Catalano pinch ran for Sam Mott, who singled. Catalano tied the game when a two out fly ball was misplayed in right. Coho then singled before Mackenzie Hawley ripped a triple to right to score two runs and the Saints never trailed again.

Onondaga battled back in the top of the sixth to make it 6-5 Saints. However, Mercyhurst would score five runs in the bottom of the sixth to put the game away. Aren Schwab had the big blow, a three run double.

Coho finished with three hits to lead the Saints offense. Hawley, Kaelyn Shea, Mott, and Schwab all added two each.

In the circle, Coho went all seven innings, scattering six hits and striking out six. Only two of the five runs scored were earned.

Mercyhurst ended the drama early in game two Saturday afternoon as the Saints scored nine runs in the first inning as they swept the Lazers in the snow.

Mercyhurst had eight hits in the first inning alone, as they sent 13 batters to the plate. Mercyhurst would go on to finish the game with 12 hits.

Sam Mott would earn the complete game victory, striking out seven and allowing just two runs on five hits. Mott pitched the final three innings in heavy winds and snow but kept her composure to earn the win.

Mackenzie Hawley, Kaelyn Shea, Sam Mott, and Taylor Wilson each had two hits for Mercyhurst.

With the win, the Saints improve to 16-11 overall and have now won 11 straight games since returning from Florida.
