Mercyhurst finished off a weekend sweep with a 16-1 win over Monroe College Sunday morning.
The Saints, who were the visiting team on the scoreboard, didn't waste much time getting things going when leadoff batter Mackenzie Hawley hit the first pitch of the game over the fence. After a one out walk, Kim Burdett stroked a homer to left center to make it 3-0. The Saints would bat around and score seven runs in the top of the first to put the game away.
Sam Mott would homer in the second inning to make it 8-0 as the Saints ripped 15 hits in the game.
Hawley would be tops in the hit category as she also hit two doubles in the game and finished with a total of 4 RBIs.
Sam Mott earned the win in the circle, pitching three shutout innings while Lea Thiesen pitched the final two.
Mercyhurst has now won 17 of their last 19 games and improve their over record to 22-13. They will be back home Tuesday to face Erie Community College in a WNYAC Matchup.
