Saints Keep Season Alive at Districts

After losing the first game of the District Tournament, the Saints need a win to keep their season alive, and they did just that.

The Saints lost to Morris in the first game of the day, and the loser of this game would be done for the year. Mercyhurst scored five runs in the third inning to take charge.

Kaelyn Shea opened the scoring with a two run double. After a single by Emily Foy, Kiersten Coho connected on a three run homer to make it 5-0.

In the fifth, Foy homered to make it 7-0 and Heather Mueller drove home two more runs to provide a 9-0 lead for the Saints.

CCRI would rally to score four runs in the bottom half to keep it close, but they would only get one more the rest of the way as the Saints won 9-5.

Sam Mott was the winning pitcher, allowing just one hit and one earned run while striking out six in 4.1 innings.

Mercyhurst tallied 10 hits in the game, with Mueller and Foy getting two each.
