The Saints softball season came to a close Thursday night at the National Tournament to the number five ranked DMACC Bears.
DMACC scored five runs, only three earned in the first inning to take an early lead. From there, the Bear pitcher commanded the game, giving up only two hits, both in the first inning.
For the Saints, the game capped an amazing turnaround season, where they started off with a 5-11 record down on Florida. After that trip, the Saints went 32-7 from that point on to finish the year with an overall record of 37-18.
Mercyhurst won the Western New York Athletic Conference, the Region 3/15 Championship, and the District Tournament to advance to the World Series.
