Saints End Florida Trip With Sweep

Mercyhurst built a big lead and then held off a late rally to sweep their last day in Florida Sunday afternoon.

The Jayhawks went ahead 2-0 early but the Saints scored five in the second and five more in the third to take command. Hannah Davis put the Saints ahead with a big three-run homer in the second.

Muskegon scored a bunch late but couldn't get any closer than 10-8.

Tori Harding earned the win in the circle, going five innings and striking out three. Justine Dean entered in the sixth to pick up the save.

Jill Berguson, Anna Swartout, Rachel Shaheen, and Harding all had two hits each for the Saints.

Mercyhurst improves to 5-9 on the season and will had back to campus Monday. They will be back in action next weekend at Hagerstown.

Anderson 2

After a scoreless first inning, the Saints scored in every inning the rest of the way to salt away a win over Anderson.

Trailing 2-1 in the third inning, Justine Dean launched a two run homer to give the Saints the lead and they never let go.

Dean was also the winning pitcher, going all six innings and limiting Anderson to just seven hits. She struck out seven while walking just one.

Rachel Shaheen, Riplee Burkhart, Tori Harding, and Dean all had two hits while Dean also drove home four runs.
