Ayla Bragg hit a grand slam and Lei Guthrie also homered as the Saints came out swinging against ECC on Saturday afternoon.

Mercyhurst scored 6 runs in the first inning and went up 10-0 after two innings to put the game away.

Guthrie pitched the first two innings before giving way to Tori Harding, who earned the win. Harding went three innings, striking out six and allowing just two runs.

Rachel Shaheen led the Saints with three hits. Bragg hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to dead center field and Guthrie homered in the 2nd inning to left.

Riplee Burkhart and Harding both added two hits in the winning effort.

Riplee Burkhart went 4-for-4 as the Saints completed the sweep of Erie Community College on Saturday.

After two scoreless innings, the Saints scored first when Lea Munnell scored on a wild pitch. Justine Dean then singled home two more runs to make it 3-0. In the fourth, Munnell and Lei Guthrie had RBIs to make it 6-0.

Wilmari Guzman, Anna Swartout, and Munnell had two hits each.

Guthrie pitched all seven innings, allowing just three hits and no earned runs to get the win.

With the win, the Saints improve to 23-14 overall and 6-0 in the conference. MNE will be back in action Monday when they host Cuyahoga Community College.
