Saints Extend Streak

The Saints Softball team is nearing the end of their spring trip and they haven't cooled off since arriving. The Saints improved their record this afternoon (3/9) to 13-2 overall by defeating Jackson College 10-2 and Muskegon College 8-1.

In game one, the Saints cranked out 11 hits. Cheyenne Hindman, Sierra Reid, Tori Harding, and Wilmari Guzman all had multi hit games to lead the Saints offense. Asja Johnson also added a home run of her own in the win.

In the night cap, the Saints didn't waste anytime gaining a lead, as they went ahead 6-0 through the first four innings. Sierra Reid pitched a gem for the Saints giving up one run on 5 hits through 5 and a third innings of work. The Saints then found themselves in a bit of a jam, as Muskegon loaded the bases with only one out in the 6th.

Tori Harding then came into the game in relief and shut the door by striking out two consecutive batters. She had a total of 5 strikeouts on the day.

Offensively that Saints were led by Cheyenne Hindman who had 3 hits.

The Saints are back in action on Sunday as they take on Mott CC and Heartland CC.
