The MNE Saints Softball team added to the win column Tuesday evening by taking two more games from Monroe Community College. In game one, the Saints won 8-1, and in game two, MNE secured a 10-2 victory.
MNE's lineup, from top to bottom, has shown consistency and power so far this season, and it was more of the same in this regional matchup. The Saints were led by Asja Johnson who collected two hits in the game in three attempts, which included a homerun. Cheyenne Hindman also contributed a homerun in the win, while Wilmari Guzman continued her hot streak by smacking a double.
In game two, the Saints exploded for four runs in their half of the second inning, which started a rally Monroe couldn't keep up with. Cheyenne Hindman and Tori Harding collected two hits apiece, with one of Harding's being a homerun.
Sierra Reid pitched a complete game giving up one earned run and striking out five.
The Saints are now 32-12 on the season as they get set to take on Cuyahoga Community College this Sunday in Parma, Ohio.
