The Saints squared off against TRI-C Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader and fell short of two victories by losing game one 7-6, and game two 12-11.
In game one, the Saints gave up four runs in the first inning and dug themselves an early hole. Heading into the seventh inning, the Saints found themselves trailing 7-3. They then were able to push three runs across, to come within one, but the magic stopped there.
Hannah Davis led the Saints by going 3 for 3 from the plate, which included a triple and 3 RBI's.
In game two, the Saints again found themselves in a barn burner. With both teams scoring five runs apiece in the first inning, the Saints had the upper hand with a 11-9 lead as TRI-C came to the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning.
With TRI-C threatening, the Saints made a great defensive play at the plate, which to everyone watching, seemed to be the last out of the game. The TRI-C runner was surprising called safe however, which enabled TRI-C to push one more run across to solidify the victory.
The Saints are now 32-14 on the year, and will take on ECC on April 17th. Games are scheduled for 3PM and 5PM at ECC.
