(Tuesday, 1/13/15). The Saints opened up conference play on Tuesday evening as they hosting Genesee Community College. In first half action, the Saints struggled to find their rhythm as they were outscored 31-39 and shot just 28% from the field. Either they got out their first half jitters from having almost a month off for Christmas break, or it was an inspiring halftime chat from Coach Wilson, the Saints made a complete 360 in the second half and worked their way back with a team effort.
In second half action, the Saints picked up the pace through defense limiting a solid Genesee to 10 less points scored in the second then the first, as the Saints outscored GCC 44-29 in the second, giving them the 7 point win, 75-68.
Individual highlights included Jalin Steele with a game high 24 points and added 11 rebounds in the quality performance. Also in double digit scoring was Brea Forney with 12 points, and also 8 assists, and Imani Dulin with 11 points.
With the win, the Saints move to 7-6 and are back in action this weekend as they travel to Monroe Community College to take part in the MCC Tournament.
