On Wednesday evening, the Lady Saints took on the Kats of Erie Community College in a WNYAC matchup. The teams proved to be evenly match throughout the first half as neither team could build a lead of significance, the score was a close 37-36 in favor of the Kats at halftime. The Saints used a huge third quarter to pull away when they outscored the Kats 25-9, pushing the score to 61-46 going into the fourth quarter. In the final period of play, the Kats rallied late outscoring the Saints 30-17 in the fourth, but it wasn't enough as the Saints came out with the 78-76 win.
Highlights from the game included: Shaquoia McCray with a team high 21 points and 16 rebounds. Alissa Johnson chipped in with 20 points of her own while Nia Phillips gathered 10 rebounds. The Saints saw 10 players score throughout the game.
With the win, the Saints are now 4-6 overall and 1-2 in WNYAC play and are back in action this weekend when they host Pitt-Titusville at 1:00 in Liguori Fieldhouse in a non-conference matchup.
