In first half action, Kaitlyn Levesque got "team scarlet" on the board halfway through the 1st half when she beat "team blue goalkeeper" Tiffany Nazarian with a great shot to the backside netting. Score was 1-0 scarlet, which held until halftime.

In the second half, after coach Hordych's inspiring halftime speech, team blue quickly evened the score when Lindsay Vogt received a cross from Harley Boyd and made an easy finish on scarlet goalkeeper Olivia Shear. Scarlet quickly rallied when Mallory Whiteley found the back of the net to give scarlet the 2-1 lead. With only ten minutes left in the game, Holly Lovich scored the miracle goal from outside the box with her left foot beating the goalkeeper and evening the score at 2-2, which would be the end result to regulation time, making a shootout necessary.

In the shootout, team scarlet had a one goal advantage heading into the fifth and final round of shooting. It was all up to former saints standout Maria Procopio to give her team the win. As she stepped up to the line, even the heckling from Coach Hordych wasn't going to stop her determination to give her team the win. Procopio stepped up and drove the shot into the left side net and team scarlet goalkeeper and team Scarlet rushed the field in celebration of the win.

This game marked the 4th annual alumni game and had the biggest turnout in program history. Next year's alumni game will be Saturday, April 30th. If you would like to play, please contact coach Hordych or join our facebook page under "Mercyhurst North East Women's Soccer" to get details as the game approaches.
