Owens Too Much for Saints
Sep 8, 2013

(Toledo, OH) On Saturday, the Owens CC Express proved to be too much for the Saints as the Saints lost 7-0. In first half action, the Express got on the board early, scoring two goals in the first ten minutes of the game. The Saints then held their own for the next thirty five minutes, but let up a third goal late in the first half to bring the score to 3-0 at halftime.

In second half action, the Express continued to roll as they netted another four goals to end the game 7-0. ?Owens is a really good team, they have proved that year after year. I think if we had our injured players healthy, and could have corrected some things early on, we could have competed better with them, however Owens played fantastic today?, says Coach Hordych.

Olivia Shear did all she could in goal, making 23 saves for the Saints. The Saints fell to 1-2-0 on the season and have a week to rest up and heal their injuries until they are back in action on Monday, September 16th when they enter a series of three games in six days, taking on WNYAC opponents Erie CC on Monday and Jamestown CC ? Olean on Wednesday, then they face off in a non-conference match-up at Westmoreland CC on Saturday, September 21st.
