On Monday evening the Saints traveled to Erie Community College to take on the Kats in a rematch from last week. The first time these teams met, the Saints won a thriller 3-2, this time would have a similar 1 goal difference, but for the other side.
In first half action, the game showed opportunities for each side. It was a very two very similar skilled teams playing against each other. It wasn't until late in the 1st that ECC found a scoring chances as a direct ball was played, MNE keeper Kym Braine came off her line to clear a ball but the ball was cleared into an on running ECC player for a deflection which set up an ECC forward for an easy finish giving them the 1-0 lead, which would hold through halftime.
In the second half, the Saints came out with moe energy which resulting in numerousscoring opportunities. Amanda Sonney had 4 shots on goal in the final 5 minutes, but the Saints couldn't find the equalizer. The score of 1-0 would hold through regulation for a 1-0 ECC finish.
The Saints snapped a 6 game winning streak and dropped to 6-2-0 on the season and are back in action this weekend as they host Monroe Community College at home on Saturday at 1:00.
