The women's soccer team wrapped up their regular season with a 1-0 win over Owens Community College Express on Sunday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, the Saints looked took advantage of the few chances they had during the second half. It was with 25 minutes remaining in play when Megan McKinney would receive a pass from Emily Griffith outside the box, beat an Express defender and drive a shot past Owens goalkeeper for what turned out to be the game winner.
With the win, the Saints ended their regular season 9-3-1. "This was a really nice win for us. It will give us a lot of momentum going into the region playoffs next weekend," says head coach Jacob Hordych.
This marked the first time the Saints have beaten Owens, dating back to 2011. The Saints will travel to Monroe Community College On October 31st to take on the Tribunes in the Region III Division I Championships.
