Women's Soccer Falls in Season Opening Weekend

Fall Season Is Underway

The women's soccer team fell to Tompkins Cortland Community College this past weekend to begin their 2017 campaign 4-1. Then the following day the Saints couldn't rebound from the loss and took another L when they were defeated by Corning Community College.

The lone goal of the weekend was scored by Shamso Nur in the opening 20 minutes of the season, and was assisted by Taylor Zachar. Some highlights from the weekend include Tayloz Zachar recording 5 shots on goal, Raven Magrino recording 4 shots on goal and Shamso Nur have 7 total shots over the weekend. Jordan Turzak recorded 19 saves throughout the two games, while Freshman goalkeeper Jaela Dragon recorded 11 of her own including a penalty kick vs. Corning.

The Saints are 0-2-0 and will host #2 Erie Community College on Thursday at 3:00 on Vineyard Field.
