MNE Women's Soccer Drops Second Straight

The Lady Saints had their second game of the season this past week, as they traveled with the Men's soccer team to Erie CC. Coming off of a tough rout against Mohawk Valley, the Lady Saints hoped to take another opportunity to get better and improve as their season pressed on into September. Things started off tough for the Mercyhurst North East, as Erie CC would score 4 goals against the Saints within the first 10 minutes of the game. After a 5th goal in the 20th minute, the Saints would keep Erie CC from scoring again until the 42nd minute of the half.

Goalkeeper #24 Mallory Mansberry ended the game with 12 saves and improved tremendously after just her 2nd game as a goalkeeper. Sophomore #10, Lydia Beers and Freshman #20, Alexandria Krebs, #15 Brittni Metcalf, and #2 Rachel Skelton, battled the entire game in spite of the score line. At the end of the game, the score line ended with Erie CC defeating the Lady Saints 12-0. Despite the score, the team battled the entire 90 minutes and coach Poe was pleased with the attitude and effort. "These ladies were put in a really tough spot this season but I can't say enough about their outlook and effort, despite all of that. They run hard til the very last whistle and I couldn't be more proud of them!" Coach Poe shared.

The Lady Saints' are back home this Wednesday, September 5th, when they host Lakeland Community College. Kick off is at 5 pm.
