Lady Saints Soccer Performs Well Despite Scoreline

Lady Saints put together a great first half performance against Lakeland CC despite scoreline

The lady Saints hosted Lakeland CC this past Wednesday, September 5th, for their 3rd game of their season. Although the score line ended 8-0, the saints played their best game to date forcing a few quality saves from Lakelands keeper on breakaways and striking the post from a breakaway from #4, Sophomore, Shamsi Nur. Sophomore #10, Lydia Beers, started and played the first half in Goalkeeper making 5 key saves. The defense held strong in the first half only allowing 3 goals, with one coming from a pk on a handball call in the box and another coming from a great header off of a Lakeland corner kick.

The second half would be a test in resilience for the Lady Saints as they played hard thru the heat to finish the game at 8-0. "The score line didn't tell the whole story of this game as I feel the ladies are getting better every game. We still have a lot to work on but I can't say enough about their work ethic and attitude!" Coach Poe shared.

The Lady Saints have a nice break to get ready for their next match when they host Genesee CC on Friday, September 14th.
