Jacob Hordych is entering his eleventh season at the helm of the Saints Soccer Team. In 2011 and 2012, Hordych helped coach the Saints squad to back to back region championship appearance. In 2013, the Saints came up short losing to Bryant and Stratton in the Region Semi-Finals, but in 2014 the Saints reappeared in the Region Finals while also setting a school record for wins with a final record of 11-5-2. In 2015 and 2016, the Saints once again went to the region finals, coming out as Region III, Division I runners-up

In his ten seasons of coaching, Hordych has compiled a 72-56-9 record and has helped build the Saints Soccer Team into a perennial region contender. He has helped 35 players receive All-Region honors and has had 11 Academic All-Americans. Hordych has also helped 23 players go onto the NCAA Division III or II levels after their careers at Mercyhurst North East.

Hordych, a North East native, took over the women's soccer program in fall of 2007 after leaving his position as Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach at North East High School. Along with being the head coach, Hordych is also the Assistant Athletic Director, Sport Information Director and is also a lecturer in the Sport Management program.

Hordych has earned duel bachelor’s degrees, one in Sport Management from Lock Haven University in 2006 and also a degree in marketing from Penn State Behrend in 2004. He also obtained a Masters in Sport Management from Lock Haven University in 2014.

While at Behrend, Hordych was a four year member of the Men's Soccer Team. He played goalkeeper and set the school record for single season shutouts and career shutouts. He was a seven time "AMCC Keeper of the Week" and was named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) three times. In 2003, he was named to the Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American team after helping lead the Lions to their first ever NCAA tournament appearance. Hordych was inducted into the Penn State Behrend Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.

In addition to his duties at Mercyhurst North East, Hordych is a licensed PIAA official, coaches numerous camps and clinics in the Erie area and volunteers his time refereeing youth leagues around the area.
