Mercyhurst North East had six players get named to the all WNYAC team, announced Friday afternoon. The Saints won the WNYAC conference with a 7-1 record this past year.
Making the first team were Asja Johnson, Sierra Reid, Chey Hindman, and Tori Harding. Wilmari Guzman and Jodi Frontino were both honored with spots on the second team. Voting is done by the opposing coaches in the WNYAC.
Johnson, a freshman, led the Saints with 15 home runs to go along with 47 RBIs and a .402 batting average.
Reid, a freshman, led the Saints with .435 batting average and added 53 RBIs. She was second on the team with 17 doubles. As a pitcher, Reid had an ERA of 3.10 with a record of 15-5.
Harding, a sophomore, closed out her wonderful career with a .377 batting average, 10 home runs, 15 doubles, and led the team with 57 RBIs. Harding also pitched for the Saints, finishing the season with a 5-1 record and an ERA of 3.50.
Hindman, a freshman, did a little of everything for the Saints. As the Saints number one pitcher, she led the staff with an ERA of 2.37. She struck out 131 batters in 189.1 innings pitched. She finished with a record of 21-10. As a hitter, she had a .397 batting average with 11 home runs and 39 RBIs.
Guzman, a sophomore, led the Saints with a school record 22 doubles, she also had four triples and four home runs to go along with a .379 batting average. Guzman also locked down center field for the Saints all year on defense.
Frontino, a freshman, posted an impressive .360 batting average with 3 home runs and 25 RBIs. She also added 10 doubles.
