Saints Soccer 2019

JAMESTOWN, NY-Wednesday's Game saw the Lady Saints dominate from start to finish against a physical Jamestown side. The Lady Saints came out of the blocks flying with the first goal arriving after 4 minutes through a wonderful defense splitting pass from #10 Ashley Lundmark to #4 Krista Tabacchi who finished past the onrushing keeper expertly. Things got better two minutes later when some lovely interchange of movement saw #6 Taylor Mclaughlin loft the ball over for #9 Tara Cratsley to run onto and put it in the far corner of the goal. Two minutes later the exact same players were involved as a well worked team goal was scored by Cratsley and assisted by the influential Mclaughlin but it was a move which saw most of the team combine and build out from the back to Coach Mountford's delight. 5 minutes later the Saints struck again through a wonderful free kick from about 30 yards out by #26 Maegan Seeman who lofted the ball over the keeper into the top corner to put the Ladies 4-0 up within 18minutes. Two minutes later #8 Hannah Piemme danced through the Jamestown defense and smashed the ball into the top corner (upper 90) leaving the keeper absolutely no chance and scoring a contender for goal of the season so far in what was a moment of individual brilliance. 20 minutes gone by and MNE was up 5-0 in dreamland. The rest of the half was controlled possession from the Lady Saints who registered 20 shots on goal and it was no surprise when the two forwards combined again for Tara Cratsley's hat trick shortly after the half hour mark.

The Lady Saints continued to press their opponents and won the midfield battle with Lundmark proving instrumental and she played a lovely forward pass into Tabacchi who took the ball on the half turn sent her defender the wrong way and slotted into the bottom corner out of the goalkeepers reach in another contender for goal of the season and another moment of individual brilliance. It could have been 8-0 at half time but Mclaughin's goal was ruled out after the timer failed to go off to signal the end of the half. 7-0 at half time and fully deserved.

The second half saw a whole host of changes for the Lady Saints with #17 Tegra Kij excelling in defense and a welcome back from injury for sophomore Ally Krebs.

The Saints are back home vs Lorain CCC on Saturday September 14th with a 1pm start time.
