JCC Sweeps The Saints At Home

NORTH EAST, PA- The Liguori Fieldhouse was all pinked out for Tuesdays night match between Mercyhurst North East and Jamestown Community College. The Saints were swept at home as their final regular season home match 0-3 (15-25, 23-25, 16-25). In set one the Saints got off to a rough start as they never got settled into the set. The Jayhawks took an early lead again in set 2 as the Saints tried to battle back. Haleima Yates brought the Saints back with strong serving but fell short by two 23-25. In the final set of the evening sophomore rightside hitter Alexis White had a spark of 5 of her 6 kills in set three alone. The Hawks snap an eight game winning streak from the Saints.

The Saints were led by Haleima Yates seven kills with four digs. In addition, Alexis White had six kills and six digs, Torilynne Nelson dished out 18 assists, and Destiny Goodnight picked up 10 digs.

 

The Saints had a serving challenge and Chinese auction baskets as the match went along. All proceeds go to Pattie's Pink Warriors. Thanks to all the fans who came out to support breast cancer awareness.

 

Saints head to fall break 11-7 and look forward to the next opponent as they travel to Penn State Beaver on October 17th with a 7 p.m. start time.
